Welcome
to Holy Trinity’s website. It’s
not even close to “virtual reality,” but it will fill you in on
the schedule, certain activities, and the overall nature of our
program.
What
you won’t find here are the chatter in the kitchen after a Thursday
night Fellowship Supper, the quiet in the sanctuary as a couple are
blessed on the Sunday of their anniversary week, or the look on the
face of an acolyte as she’s asked to put her finger in the baptismal
font when I realize that I’ve left the stopper in the sacristy, the
sound of the congregation praying the “birthday prayer” from
memory over a child blushing in the aisle, or the knowledge that
you’re being prayed for by friends in times of illness or
thanksgiving.
If
you’re looking for those kinds of things, I invite you to come visit
us. We try our best to proclaim the Good News of God in Jesus
Christ, and to serve as a ray of his light to the world. We’re also
pretty sure you could help us do a better job of that.
If
you’re looking for a quiet, intimate service, come on a Sunday at
8:00 in the morning. If you’re looking for music, a
children’s program, and a little commotion at The Peace; our family
service begins at 10. Children meet in the Parish Hall at 9:45
to begin Sunday School, and join us at 10:35 for community blessings
and Holy Communion.
There’s
a Bible for you to take home at the back of the church as a symbol of
our welcome and appreciation for your visit. I just ask that you
somehow get your name and address onto a piece of paper and put it in
my hand before you leave, so that if we don’t have a chance to talk
at Coffee Hour, I can drop you a line during the week.
Thanks
for checking in, and for reading this far! If you have any
questions about Holy Trinity, or the Episcopal Church, please come by
or give me a call.
God's
peace be with you,
Father
Phil Kasey
